Accessibility Evaluation
Web accessibility testing ensures your website or web-based application can be accessed by all users.
Web accessibility testing as a minimum examines how your website or application has been coded by developers. Symplicit conducts an accessibility audit in which code for key parts of your site or application is checked to ensure it meets international standards developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C)
W3C is the authority on web standards and its goal is to create "Web interoperability" ie all web technologies must be compatible with one another and allow any hardware and software used to access the Web to work together . This is particularly important for customers who use assistive technology such as a computer screen reader to access your website or application.
Symplicit's approach is to understand your business environment and conduct an audit of the appropriate depth for your organisation. We provide an audit report which identifies the extent of compliance and recommendations to achieve compliance.
In addition we can extend into a more proactive assessment of accessibility which is all about creating well designed offerings. Good design enhances the experience for all users and overcomes accessibility issues in the process. By conducting a compliance needs analysis we can help you to understand why non-compliance has occurred and provide recommendations for changes in the design of your offering and organisational culture, work practices and training.
Conducting accessibility testing and working towards compliance ensures the greatest possible number of potential customers can access your web based offering. Accessibility is not only about meeting legal requirements for users with a disability it also makes good business sense.
